TEHRAN — A monumental series of nationwide commemorations marking the 40th day since the burial of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has concluded following solemn and powerful gatherings. Across Tehran and the holy cities of Qom and Mashhad, vast cross-sections of citizens alongside high-ranking civil and military officials gathered to honor the late Leader's profound legacy, displaying unprecedented national resilience and unwavering solidarity with the Islamic Republic.

The observances officially commenced on Tuesday afternoon with a massive gathering at Tehran’s landmark Imam Khomeini Mosalla, organized under the direct oversight of the Office of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei. Attendees packed the sprawling prayer complex to capacity, proudly raising the national flag of Iran, displaying radiant portraits of the beloved martyred Leader, and waving red banners symbolizing righteous resistance. The resonant crowds filled the air with passionate slogans, affirming their unyielding loyalty to the defense of the nation and demonstrating deep-rooted solidarity with the foundational ideals of the Islamic Republic.  

On Wednesday evening, the spiritual observances expanded to the holy city of Qom, where tens of thousands of devoted mourners, esteemed religious scholars, and pilgrims assembled at the illuminated Holy Shrine of Lady Fatima Masoumeh (SA). Under the banner of unity, the people of Qom echoed the capital's fervor, mourning the loss of a visionary leader while celebrating his elevation to the highest ranks of martyrdom.  

The nationwide commemorations culminated on Thursday in Mashhad at the sacred sanctuary of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS). Coinciding with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan Asgari (AS), millions of grieving faithful gathered around the final resting place where Ayatollah Khamenei was laid to rest on July 10, bringing the formal 40-day mourning cycle to an emotional and deeply spiritual close.  

In Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad alike, the gathered masses spoke with one defiant voice. Citizens in all three cities repeatedly chanted powerful anti-imperialist slogans and explicitly called for avenging the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was martyred during hostile joint US-Israeli strikes on February 28.  Mourners passionately demanded that the perpetrators of this cowardly assassination face righteous justice, pledging that the blood of the martyrs will not go unanswered.  The nationwide ceremonies delivered an unmistakable message of national endurance to the world. They demonstrated that the ultimate sacrifice of the martyred Leader has only deepened the resolve of the Iranian people to stand firm against global arrogance, safeguard their sacred sovereignty, and relentlessly continue along the victorious path of resistance.
